My March List
Cosplaying as an influencer.
I’m working on a few essays that need a bit more time, so here we are. A little consumer voyeurism never hurt anyone, right?
Here’s a current list of the things I’ve been buying, doing, consuming, and loving.
Clothes & Accessories:
Ruti Petite Slouchy Jeans – If you’re under 5’4, these jeans are so good.
Asher Sebi Zip-up Hoodie – I recently got this in dusty lilac and am already contemplating more colors. It’s perfect and I never want to take it off.
Beyond Yoga Spacedye Slim Racerback Cropped Tank – I have a few of these that I live in, for working out (and not).
Bembien Mini Madeline Bag – I bought this a few weeks ago and get compliments on it every single day.
Hand-embroidered Beaded Pouch – Per my recent post about my scattered ADHD brain, there are few things I love more than a filling a pouch to capacity.
Classes, Places, & Groups:
Bedford Post Inn – Bury me in the yoga barn. What a stunning place! I’m a fan of Stereo Sessions on Fridays at 11:30 a.m. (taught by Faye and sometimes Marisa).
The Collective by Jabfit – Hot Powerbeat and Hot Booty Inferno are my version of therapy. Not to mention my ass might look better than it did when I was 25.
Boro 6 – I’ve had a few great meals here, including lunch last week with my siblings (no partners, no kids––a treat!). It’s one of the few Westchester restaurants I can recommend without hesitation.
Inness – We spent a night in one of the cabins for my 40th birthday. The restaurant, spa, staff, room, and grounds were all top-notch. We’ll be back.
Mysha – For “women who never thought they’d join a mom group”. Community, discount codes, swag, and ~elite~ woo woo recommendations. From psychics to shamans to acupuncturists and holistic dentists, these women have the hook up.
Home:
Artfully Walls – Homeward Bound – We needed a new piece for over our bed. This one didn’t bankrupt us and looks great!
Culture:
Spiritualized – Ethan and I saw them play an incredible show Kings Theater last fall. All of their albums are amazing, but I have a special place in my heart for Sweet Heart Sweet Light.
Zoo – From “Zootopia 2” – The bop of bops. It’s possible I enjoy this more than the kids.
Mamma Mia! & Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again– These movies are PG-13 and my kids are obsessed. Call child protective services! Nothing brings me more joy than Graham saying, “Mama, please play Super Trouper”.
The Princess Bride – A gem of a movie. During our first viewing (of several), Bella told me that I look a little bit like Princess Buttercup. I can die happy now.
The Ascended by Bree Grenwich and Parker Lennox – Romantasy hive, rise up. I enjoyed Riftborne and Duskbound by the same author duo, but The Ascended is the best of the bunch. Xül can get it.
Directional Living by Megan Hellerer – This book is a must-read (or listen) for people trying to build a life that feels singular––like it’s theirs. Rather than strict 5-year-plans, she advocates for small, aligned experiments that compound over time. I’m already seeing the influence of her work in my own life––it’s powerful stuff.
Strangers by Belle Burden – An absolutely gripping, if chilling, book. “James” is a sociopath.
Random Stuff:
Cowboy Colostrum – I’m on a hair growth journey and this is in heavy rotation.
Foria Awaken with CBD – if you know, you know 😉
Thymosin Alpha 1 – I know, I know. Peptides. All I can say is when I was injecting this in the fall & early winter, I didn’t get sick at all (despite many illnesses rotating through the family). But when I ran out for a few weeks, I got extremely sick. The Balanced Blonde has some great peptide content for newbs.
Fairy Tales Conditioning Repel Spray – There was recently a lice scare at the kids’ school. Spraying their hair with this every morning makes me feel like I’m being proactive.
The Mad Tatter – I’m on a tattoo spree! The Mad Tatter specializes in delicate tats and fine lines.
This is getting long, so I’m going to cut it off here. Maybe I’ll do another edition in a few weeks. Requests and feedback are welcome in the comments!
